#Inspireinclusion – International Women’s Day 2024
The 8th of March 2024 is International Women’s Day – an opportunity for all of us to focus on this years’ theme to Inspire Inclusion.
Women should be treated equally within our communities, and we should embrace their diversity of race, age, ability, faith and body image. If women are being ignored or marginalised, we should question why? If women are being discriminated against, we should challenge those who are responsible – even if it is difficult to do so.
The official website of the event highlights 10 key action areas to keep at the forefront of our minds, they are:
- Forging women’s economic empowerment
- Recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent
- Supporting women into leadership, decision-making, business and STEM
- Designing and building infrastructure meeting the needs of women
- Helping women make informed decisions about their health
- Involving women in sustainable agriculture and food security
- Providing women with access to quality education and training
- Elevating women’s participation and achievement in sport
- Promoting creative and artistic talent of women
- Addressing further areas supporting the advancement of women
