As members of The Menopause Centre, we want to do everything we can to empower you to talk about the menopause and its impact on your life.
There are over 40 recognised symptoms of menopause, many of these – like headaches, joint pain and sleep issues – are likely to be something you’ve had before; meaning they’re commonly misinterpreted as other illnesses or conditions. If you’re unsure about your symptoms, you should always speak to your GP, however, this handy self-check assessment, can help to point you in the right direction.
Other symptoms are much less likely to be something familiar. Altered Skin Sensation, for example, can cause prickling, itchiness and formication; the feeling of insects crawling over the skin. Meanwhile, changes to hormone levels can cause hair loss and thinning. Experiencing symptoms like this can be worrying, particularly if you’ve never encountered them before. However, it’s important to remember that there is help out there and plenty of opportunity to seek out inspiration support.
