Black History Month 2023

Throughout October, we have been encouraging our staff and learners to engage with Black History Month and its theme for 2023; Saluting our Sisters.

This years’ campaign aims to celebrate the often overlooked achievements of black women throughout history, highlighting their outstanding contributions in areas including literature, music, fashion, sports, business, politics, academia and healthcare.

From the medical work of 19th century nurse Mary Seacole, through to the gold medal winning performances of modern-day Olympian, Nicola Adams – black women continue to have a profound impact on society, shattering the barriers of stereotype and prejudice.
