Mental Health Awareness Week 2024
Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 will take place from 13 to 19 May, with the theme of ‘Movement’.
Modern lives are often hectic and this has made it more than difficult than ever for many of us to appreciate the importance of moving. With televisions, computers and phone screens dominating our daily routines, it can be easy to go days at a time with very little movement involved.
Movement can mean whatever you want it to. Everyone has their own limit for what’s possible and the theme of movement recognises this. For some people, the goal may be to run a marathon – for others, it may be to walk around the block – the key factor is, we need to do more to get our bodies moving.
Physical exercise is inherently linked to our mental health, it can reduce stress and anxiety, and boost our self-esteem.
In the office, we’ll be aiming to move more by getting away from our desks for regular breaks outside in the (hopefully) sunny weather. You can do loads to get involved too, including visiting the Week’s Official Website.
